Down's Syndrome Federation of India
Mathuru Mandir is an institution that offers support to individuals with Down's Syndrome and their families. It was started in 1984 with 6 children and is today catering to children from all over the country and the Middle East. Mrs.Rekha Ramachandran, the proud mother of Babli Ramachandran who is afflicted by Down Syndrome was primely responsible for the founding of Mathru Mandir.
Mathuru Mandir, the only one of its kind in South India also conducts and co-ordinates researches and specialized out patient services and early intervention programmes.
And not just this, a lot of research programs, specialized out patient services, and early intervention programs are also conducted and co-ordinated there. Down syndrome federation of India goes with a vision and a mission.The vision is to facilitate a nurturing and supporting environment both within the family and in the society for individuals
with Down syndrome and the mission to provide a long term rehabilitative, supportive and therapeutic service for individuals with Down syndrome.
